Held under the powerful theme “Empowering Dreams: Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Leaders”, this year’s event was designed to encourage young girls to explore careers in STEM, energy, aviation, and other underrepresented fields for women.
The event’s global theme, “Accelerate Action”, resonated strongly as it called for decisive steps toward ending gender disparity, breaking down long-standing barriers, and creating equal opportunities across industries.
Inspiring the Girl Child in STEM and Energy
Titled “Career Talks For the Girl Child”, the career fair featured inspiring sessions aimed at:
- Equipping young girls with knowledge about STEM and technical careers
- Offering mentorship and representation from women leaders in industry
- Showcasing how girls can thrive in energy, aviation, and science-driven fields
As a keynote speaker, Engr. Shirley Ifeanyi shared her journey as a female leader in Nigeria’s oil & gas sector, highlighting challenges, triumphs, and the importance of mentorship and inclusion for future generations.
